If interested in our Introduction to Japanese Swordsmanship classes or the traditional Japanese martial and cultural arts that we practice within a relaxed group setting, consider joining our public class at the Spartan Recreation Center in Shoreline, WA. Instructor permission is required for Advanced Class registration. Iaido Definition Iaido is the contemporary Japanese art of drawing the long sword. Swords are cool! Our instructor has over 40 years of experience and is a 2009 inductee of the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Discover self-mastery and Japanese culture with All Japan Kendo Federation Iaido - an art of quick-draw swordsmanship devoted to the development of body, mind, and spirit, AiShin-ryu Aiki sword and staff - an art which presents options for peaceful conflict resolution from a position of internal and external strength and harmony, and Ki Meditation, Breathing, and Mind-Body Coordination Exercises. It’s fun, enlightening, and may change your life! Please wear long sweat pants, volleyball knee pads, and a t-shirt training swords and other necessary gear will be provided. Due to the nature of our training, our minimum age to participate is 15.
